I became interested in teaching when I was in 6th grade. I had amazing teachers in junior high and it made me want to teach as well. In high school my walk with God became more serious and I surrendered to full-time Christian service in whatever capacity God led me to. I went to a Bible college and didn’t know specifically what God wanted for me, but but my senior year he led me to accept a position at the church and Christian school where I grew up. After serving there for a year my wife and I moved to the next state over and began teaching and serving at a new church and school. After 4 years of teaching, I accepted a position at the school where I now work as an assistant principal.

I have always been a Christian educator. I wanted to teach and be where I could speak the word of God, praise him and teach about him.

I taught in public schools for several years. Having to recently move due to being needed to take care of a family member, I was working on sending my resume out and each time I hit submit, I felt like I needed more of something. I came across this Christian school and sent in my application. That is what I was missing. I was missing being able to praise our God in school, have the experience of teaching the Word of God. So here I am. Very happy, not stressed, and love going into my classroom daily.
I have shared this story with my students.

I lost my dad before starting university and my mom during my second year. Faced with the need to cover my tuition and living expenses, I had to find a job. A teacher at my church, who also worked at the school where I am now employed, introduced me to a parent in need of a tutor. While tutoring their children, I discovered a passion for teaching and decided to pursue it as a career.
After earning my first degree, I joined the school as a teaching assistant. This role helped me realize the profound impact I could have on my students’ lives as a Christian educator. Three years later, I enrolled in a program to earn my certification in education, and I’ve been teaching at the school ever since.
The journey has been filled with struggles and challenges, but through it all, I am confident that this is God’s purpose for me.
I have never shared this story with my students.

I haven’t really shared with my students, perhaps not the full story. I have always been interested in teaching and that led me into education. However, I got my first teaching job at my school, and I remembered I was shocked when I came across “Bible integration” in my lesson plan. I really did not know how to connect it with the topics that I had to teach in music, although I was a Christian. It took some time and of course with prayers. This led me into understanding the mission and vision of the school and I somehow understood the bigger picture and here I am, wanting to win the heart of students for Christ while teaching my subject in an excellent way in a friendly and godly environment.
