However a regenerate soul with indwelling of the Holy spirit learns to respond to the leading of the Holy spirit to align them with what pleases God and brings him glory.

It could be a temporary fix of something that goes much deeper. But when we realize we have been re-created to be a child who glorifies The Father, and we most deeply what to honor and glorify Him, The Spirit is then empowered to give us all we need to achieve what we most desire, because what we most desire is of God and not our human will.

We reason our that is wrong and weigh the consequences and choose to do the right thing. When we choose to not do something because it's not something we most deeply want to do it is a matter of the heart. It is determined by our relationship with God and deep love for Him and our desire to please Him.

Not doing something because it’s not what we most deeply want to do taps into the infrastructure of who God designed us to be, His creation, to have a deep relationship with, to long for Him as our most desired appetite. What I am finally growing into deeply wanting to do is the latter.
