Many of the moral standards attributed to the Buddha have led believers to say that their faith has changed their lives. They believe that they have become better by adhering to a philosophy that helps them avoid personal pain.

Buddhism’s 4 Noble Truths have a sense of truth, directing people to avoid harming others, which in turn often spares them from the outcomes of unjust behaviors would cause that lead to pain and suffering

They believe that life is made up of disappointments and suffering that are a result of our wrong desires. When we give up those desires, we end our pain and suffering. Not sure that I buy into this….

Adherents of the Four Noble Truths become more self-aware of their own pride and self-centeredness, and the high moral standards inherent in them cause followers to strive towards a life based on practicing good behavior that distracts from their own personal suffering.
