The clear process of managing and leading.
Managing is getting or forcing people to do things, whereas leading is inspiring, sharing a vision and getting people to want to do things.

There is a difference in these two behavior models. One model gets a group of people to get things done whereas the other model gets a group of people to want to get things gone.

Managing and Leading. A manager gets people to do things, while a leader gets people to want to do things. One force and the other motivates and inspires.

One is behavioral managing, trying to force someone to do something based on the position you carry. The other is behavior leading where people are willing to do something because they admire or feel freedom within your leadership.

“If there is a clear distinction between the process of managing and the process of leading, it is the distinction between getting others to do things, forcing them in a way, and getting others to want to do them. Managers get other people to do things. Leaders get other people to want to do them.”
