If you look at the overall pattern of Jesus’s teaching, His interactions with people, His life and His sayings, these are not the hallmarks of a lunatic. He was very smart under pressure and knew how to confront the Pharisees when challenged. He was calm and collected and exhibited no indications of someone who had lost their minds.

Jesus’ life, teachings, and relationships with others do not support Jesus as a lunatic.

Jesus’ teachings were clear and “cool-headed”. To have claimed to be divine and not to have really been would have accompanied other outlandish “lunatic” behaviors that Jesus did not possess.

His teachings, actions and life do not fit those of a lunatic. In fact, he was very rational and sane in his discourses, he was very cool and gave irrefutable answers under pressure.

Some evidence against Jesus being a lunatic are that no Jew in that day would claim to be God it would be an instant death warrant. Also, Jesus’ actions were not that of an insane person, he was too smart and kind.
