What does the Quran mistakenly claim about the Trinity?

Muslims believe that the concept of the Trinity is contrived, not inspired, and illogical. For the Quran, the Trinity is God, Mary, and Joseph. By contrast, God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are co-equal, one God in three persons.

To dispute Islam’s claim that Jesus was only a prophet, one can highlight Jesus’ own divine claims, His resurrection, New Testament testimonies of His deity, and the distinct Christian understanding of Jesus as both fully God and fully man.

The Quran states that the Trinity is God, Mary, and Jesus. This clearly misrepresents what Christians believe about the Father, the Son, and the Spirit making up the Trinity.

“The Quran repeatedly and firmly asserts <b style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; color: inherit;”>God’s absolute oneness, thus ruling out the possibility of another being sharing his sovereignty or nature. In Islam, the Holy Spirit is believed to be the Angel Gabriel. Muslims have explicitly rejected Christian doctrines of the Trinity from an early date.”
