Just as the sheep and goats can do little to feed or protect themselves, but they rely on the shepherd for food, water, direction and safety, we depend on the Lord for provision, guidance and protection. We realize that we mustn’t be proud and go our own way.

Jesus is our Good Shepherd. He is the guide of all my ways. I know and follow His voice and no other. Christ watches closely over me like a shepherd guarding and guiding his sheep. So, it shapes every aspect of my daily life as a follower of the Good Shepherd.

Jesus is our good Shepherd, He will care for us, never leave us, never forsake us. We can trust Him just like the sheep in the wilderness put their complete trust in the shepherd for their provision.

Jesus is my good shepherd, and in Him I shall not want… I like to think of the Footprints poem. The Lord provides all of my needs, and many of my wants. Yet, this doesn’t mean I do not travel into the dark depths of the valleys of life. Yet I remember the green pastures and the times of peaceful living by the still waters that refresh in the desert heat. Jesus love is so great that He even walks through the times of trouble with me and when things are desperately difficult, I believe this is when His love is shown the strongest.
