To begin with we must define these two terms. According to Wikipedia, Redintegrative shaming is defined as a form of shaming, imposed as a sanction by the criminal justice system, that is thought to strengthen the moral bond between the offender and the community. Restorative Justice is a system of criminal justice which focuses on the rehabilitation of offenders through reconciliation with victims and the community at large. Both of these systems of thought involve a connection between the offender, victim, and his or her community. Sanctions punish the offender while paying back their debt to society but at the same time, through restorative justice, the offender begins to take responsibility for the the harm he or she has caused and begins a healing process.
