Proverb: A short saying used to promote wise behavior through figurative language and analogies; proverbs may also include a statement of a principle
Principle: An observable reality or idea that is generally true and on which one can depend
Promise: Assurance of a future blessing or redemption
Prediction: A statement about specific future events that often includes “what” and “when” elements
Prophecy: A statement about the present or future that often includes words of promise and/or judgment (often follow an “if … then …” format); prophecies often, but not always, include predictions)
