The abrupt transition that occurs between Isaiah 39 and 40 has given rise to a theory of more than one author. There are significant contrasts we find in chapters 1–39 compared to 40–66. In the exercises that follow, students will explore some features unique to the first and second parts of Isaiah as well as some of the features that are consistent throughout the book.
