Digging In

Read: Psalm 78:35-39.

Using Psalm 78 as your resource, can you identify three ways the children of Israel departed from what God had commanded and they had promised to do?

According to Psalm 78, what were the results of disobeying God in the lives of Israel’s enemies? In Israel’s experience? In spite of their wrongdoing, how did God treat them?

Israel “flattered God with their mouth, and they lied to Him with their tongue.” How do we do the same thing today? Can you list two or three specific ways? What is God’s remedy?

Identify some people in your life who need to encounter the comforting Christ and enter into a relationship with Him. What could you do to introduce Him to them?
