This course examines the lives of several New Testament women. Go beyond the basic facts and general assumptions about them, and delve into the real, everyday life experiences they encountered: their marriages, their jobs, their places in the home, church, and marketplaces, the joys and hardships they likely faced. Learn biblical truths about who these women were, explore the social and cultural world in which they lived, and discover what we can learn from their lives about Jesus, the advancement of the gospel, and applications to your life today.

This course addresses an oft-neglected topic. Yet its implications are far-reaching in whether/how we empower or restrict women in serving and leading in the kingdom of God. Dr. Cohick's interpretations are sometimes new, therefore radical, to me, but she argues her case logically and is worth considering. As doing the quizzes reveals, some of her statements require a second reading before you get the point. Indeed, it challenges us to re-think why we still impose a glass ceiling for women in the church.

Excellent course. Added more information to the roles and activities of the women, that women played a major role in Jesus ministry, and that He did not exclude us. Always found ways to elevate us, and love us.
