His citizenship gave him freedoms, his education have him eloquence to argue with leaders, his heritage gave him credibility.

I was amazed at how the Lord prepared Paul to become so prominent in reaching the Gentiles by his education, growing up immersed in Greek culture, yet proudly a Jew and a zealous Pharisee, having a Roman citizenship to open doors and give him rights to speak about Jesus, as well as being Jewish trained under such a respected teacher to have rights to speak in Jewish synagogues. God prepared Paul to be able to speak to all people about Jesus in all ways.

He was able to reach more people and seemingly get himself out of some trouble by citing that he was a Roman citizen. Despite eventually being put in prison and under house arrest, he continued to spread the message of Christ to whomever he could.

He had Roman privileges that allowed him to request transfer and to be released without criminal treatment at times.

It allowed him to minister to people (physically, mentally and spiritually).
