After Paul’s conversion, how was his background used to carry out his life mission?

As a genuine apostle, he wanted to teach just as he learned from the master.

He used his religious background to enter into synagogues to preach and minister. He used his Roman citizenship to avoid extended time in jail and to enter in and out of Rome.

Paul’s unique combination of being a formally educated Jew who was also taught by Jesus, and a Roman citizen allowed him to be able to be a bridge between Jews and gentiles, and one with authority. He was zealous as a Jew who persecuted Christians, so his conversion was that much more intriguing and powerful. His Roman citizenship gave him freedom and privileges that others would not have had, so he was able to be more bold in his work.

In one sense he took advantage of who he was, especially a Roman. Had he not been a Roman he would have likely spent more time in prison and less time out planting churches.
