I explain to the children that we all make mistakes but God gives us grace and mercy. When they make a mistake, we talk about it and then they apologize. I even apologize when I make a mistake. I lovingly show them back to God and I remind them that we should do our best for him.

I feel that as a Christian teacher we have to be individuals that lead from a redemptive heart. I lead from the place of love and through that students in my classroom know and understand that when they make mistakes they will be forgiven but that does not negate the fact that they will receive a consequence.

In my kindergarten classroom, I regularly hold children accountable after dealing them a “negotiation chance” Even when they hit a negative consequence, there is a chance to plead their consequences as long as they are genuinely repentant which is hard to know in a 5 year old, they’re open books:)

I am a “teacher of redemption” in my 2nd-grade classroom. I use everyday moments to share God’s love and redemption with my students, helping them understand that Jesus cares about them and wants to be their friend. By sharing Bible stories and verses, I aim to plant seeds of faith in my students’ hearts.

Discipline with love has been very helpful to me. I always put into students’ remembrance not to do things that can affect their joy as a result of disobedience to instructions. In most cases I encourage the students to apologize when they are wrong, the same I do in class.
