Yes I am a teacher of redemption in the classroom. I teach “Creation, Fall, Redemption” as the plot of the Bible or the “Big Story” of the Bible and necessary points in a Biblical worldview. I have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ and I want my students to experience that same salvation in Jesus Christ. I teach them that we live in a fallen world but that God turns bad things for good.

Being a teacher od redemption is one who understands that we are not called to be perfect all the time. In fact, that is impossible, there is only one who is perfect. As we sin, because we often will, we need to teach our students to repent and ask for forgiveness. Then as teachers we need to give them the opportunity to feel that forgiveness and give them a fresh start. Mercy and grace for a student willing to change is very important. Even for those students who constantly sin against us, we need to see them through God’s eyes and remember how loving and merciful he is even when we do not deserve it.

I strive to be a teacher of redemption. We all make mistakes and we are all sinners. I absolutely believe in being Christ-like in teaching forgiveness and non-judgement and allowing students to make mistakes and learn from them.

If I’m being honest, I need to work on that aspect. I teach my students about Jesus’ love and sacrifice and how he bought us back from the power of sin and death, but I need to start exhibiting that more in my attitude and interactions.

Yes. We all should be teachers of redemption. If you look at this as a verb saying do you teach redemption, we are able be Christ-like in the way we carry ourselves and in how we operate our classrooms. As an adjective saying that I provide ways for students to redeem themselves in the classroom for their disobedience I am giving a lesson in how Christ has also provided us with a way for redemption, and can turn it into an object lesson that points back to the Gospel.
