The goal is to learn from those mistakes so we don’t repeat them. It’s important for kids to not only be forgiving, but see others be forgiving towards them. It’s important that they know what it feels like to be forgiven so they may be quicker to forgive others.

I tell them that we all make mistakes and there are consequences to those mistakes, but it’s because God wants us to learn right from wrong. He does it because he loves us so much. I give them examples of when I make mistakes and the consequences I faced. It helps them to know that adults have consequences too.
