I tried to demonstrate redemptive love to my students the way God demonstrated his redemptive love for me, looking not only to their sin, but to their value and potential as image bearers.

Honestly, I immediately thought of redemption as giving students second chances on assignments. Unfortunately, I have a bad experience with students assuming they would get to do test corrections so they didn’t do a good job the first time. There have been at times an entitlement mentality that makes it very difficult to pursue redemption in the classroom.
I definitely think that relationally I am a redemptive teacher. Those students who have misbehaved or acted out, I have given them an opportunity to change and work towards something better.
