Due to man’s sinful nature, it is not an easy thing to do. In the teaching practice however, we should always remember that students are fallen from God’s grace and it is our responsibilities to extend His grace for them.

Yes, when a student makes a mistake, we have a punishment and then we restore our relationship and move on.

I need to reflect more on areas where redemption is applicable in the classroom. Honestly, I immediately thought of redemption as giving students second chances on assignments. Unfortunately, I have a bad experience with students assuming they would get to do test corrections so they didn’t do a good job the first time. There have been at times an entitlement mentality that makes it very difficult to pursue redemption in the classroom.
I definitely think that relationally I am a redemptive teacher. Those students who have misbehaved or acted out, I have given them an opportunity to change and work towards something better.

I offer probably too much grace. I work with the student to resolve their behavioral choices. I also share about my need for redemption when I share my story.

Yes and no. I follow the fruit of the Spirit in my course but I also apply the school rules.
