I am a teacher of redemption in my classroom. Regardless of the subject that I am teaching, the most important thing that I need my students to learn is that they are redeemed through Christ.

I would say that yes I am a teacher of redemption and a conduant to help guide students in their walk with God as they learn. I do my best to uplift students even in difficult times where they have not turned in their homework or are off task. I help them get back on track, so they can be successful.

I believe so. I plan to be and want to be… but this is not enough…. I need Jesus. I know that there will be opportunities in the classroom to share my mistakes with my students, allowing me to then share how I am redeemed by Christ. When they make mistakes, I want them to also know that we have an opportunity to give thanks to the Father for sending his son Jesus Christ to live and die for us in a way that gives us saving grace.

While I would consider myself a “teacher of redemption” this is still an area of constant reflection for myself. I have found that there are times where I have been too harsh with a student or had to simply allow the consequences to play out because it seemed like the only option left for the student. When I have failed a student I have sought forgiveness to repair the relationship. My patience can run thin at times.

I am a “teacher of redemption”. However, I lot of the time that is difficult for the students and the parents to believe. For some reason they think that if I have to confront the parent or the student that I am going to hold that against them and treat them with disdain. I always have to reassure them that I don’t hold grudges, all is forgiven, and each course period or each day is new.
