Are you a “teacher of redemption” in your classroom? Explain.

I believe I am a teacher of redemption. I talk to my students about mistakes (sins) that I make and how I ask for forgiveness. I talk to them about the why and how it is wrong. I encourage them to talk about why things they do are wrong and how to ask for forgiveness. We sing songs about God’s love, grace, and forgiveness.

Yes, I believe the very goal of the classroom is redemption. We don’t want students staying in a bad place. We want to see them redeemed. I believe redemption leads to growth toward conforming to the image of Christ. We know that we are all fallen, which means it is redemption or judgment. I think there are limits based on the well being of the whole classroom, but I like to show grace with the hopes it leads to redemption.
