I am human so, no, I am not a teacher of redemption all the time. I make an effort to welcome students back in to the classroom after they have misbehaved and let them know I still accept them. Each day is a fresh start; God forgives and forgets their mistakes once they repent, and so should I.

I can usually move on and start anew the next day, but there have been times when it is hard to let go of student behavior or I can be more harsh than necessary. I think it would be good for me to verbalize redemption more often – that we all fall short, and that Christ offers forgiveness to each of us.

Yes, I try to be a teacher of redemption. I always talk about the 2nd coming of our Lord and that we all must be prepared. We talk about sin and how to work towards eternal life.

I make an effort to be a teacher of redemption in my classroom, but I am aware that I could always be more aware of this aspect of teaching. I remind myself and my students that I am here to, “Set you up to succeed”. This quote refers to their restored relationship with God when they sin, and academic success. There is always room for repentance, the goal of discipline to be restored to a right relationship with God and to have a changed heart, not only changed behavior.

Yes. We have a song that not even the Angels can sing. I’ve been redeemed and those of us that have been redeemed. There should be a camaraderie that develops as a result of this.
