I do work hard at it. I don’t hold things against students, each day is a new beginning.

I believe I am a “teacher of redemption,” because I do not just give out consequences without an explanation. We talk about why the behavior was wrong and what the student can do differently the next time.

It’s hard to strike a balance to be a teacher of redemption and to be strict and maintain high standards. As a whole in front of the entire classroom I am strict, but one on one, I am approachable and give grace where I can. Too many second chances and students walk all over you. But enough can mean the world to a student so I try and do both.

Not currently, but it is something I am working towards. Kids deserve second chances in my classroom.

Being a teacher of redemption is a constant goal. I am working to make sure my classroom management reflects God and encourages redemption. I try to offer students a way to mend the bridges they may have burned with authority or their friends. It can be difficult but that is something I work towards as a teacher.
