Bankrupt Foolishness is the latest stage of life lived without God, can be associated with hopelessness and disillusionment about life. Having gone through life with all the good and challenges there is a sense you do not have absolute control over life.
However a life led by the spirit guides and gives hope for the future that is beyond all life through at them.

Bankrupt foolishness is regretful, while the Spirit-filled Christian is satisfied in God.

Bankrupt foolishness would be to be dissatisfied with God and feel betrayed , abandoned and become angry, depressed, feel guilty etc.
When guided by The Spirit we know that God is still with us and that we do not have to feel shaken.
‘’I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
Psalm 16:8’

I am 66 years old so I can give my perspective of myself and friends, for whatever that may be worth. I put my trust an the Lord, it’s simple, it’s just not easy. I keep myself in the spirit by communing with God, reading my bible, meeting with likeminded friends of all ages and stages, I teach the gospel (by the grace of God) through exercise. I meditate to open space for me to hear the Spirit( He is always there) So my husband and remain active, we moved from being lifelong flatlanders to the mountains- I felt called and He agreeded, We have gardens and 3 dogs, 1 cat and 10 chickens so far. but I truley believe we were moved here for the people I have met, we were created for relationship, right, They have blessed my soul especially one young lady we have the most wonderful prayer time and reaching into the word and glory of God. I am truly blessed and can tell you, the best is yet to come, trust in the Lord with all your heart.

Bankrupt foolishness would say “life has dealt me a bad hand, my wife no longer recognizes me, I live daily watching her slip away and there is nothing I can do. So, I will find a way to make the best of each day because it is all I have. Versus a person who is honestly tortured by watching his wife fade from him, but, is agonizing WITH God over this loss, and allowing His Spirit to guide and direct realiing “this is not all there is and the best is yet to come,” “My hope is firmly founded in the Lord and all He is yet to do.”
