I think of several examples in Scripture where people (kings & others) didn’t “end well”. God did amazing things in their lives and then they made foolish decisions in the latter years. I think the retirement mentality is not Biblical. I think of Acts 2:17 and it would be wonderful to see an older generation pouring wisdom and experience into the younger generation and partnering together and passing the mantles on.

It’s interesting and very sad to think of pursuing sin in a more intense way to satisfy pleasure that dulled with age…but Christ provides a robust alternative , as an anchor in life

This stage is about living everyday with love for others and seeking out God-given opportunities to serve others. I believe that it is about showing and passing on what you have learned from Christ to the younger generation and living a life that honors that,

Bankrupt foolishness is when a person see himself as fulfilled, because he feels I have enjoyed a good life and things are working out the way I want. This person, through people will see him as being fulfilled in the way of the world but that is bankrupt foolishness. He does not recognize the place of the Spirit of God in our lives. He gave example of his dad, who feels so bad to the extent of being in tears because of the wives condition, but in his situation he sees God and believe that something better is yet to come and his focus and total desire is in God. This is not a bankrupt foolishness.

As one moves into the latter years of life; many lost souls tend to trya and make up for lost years by indulging in more things of the flesh.
More food; more pleasure, more travel; more exotic experiences.
This is foolishness.
The person who is Godley and a follower of The Lord Jesus Christ shuns these foolish things and desires the things of righteousness, love of God and His image bearers.
