The final years of our life can be physically demanding, mentally challenging and downright uncomfortable. Our steps get short, our eyes grow dim, our body are weaker. Things that were once easy and enjoyable, become burdensome and no longer bring us pleasure. If we allowed the wisdom imparted into us by the Holy Spirit to cause us to establish an intimate relationship with God; our final days upon this earth will be met with hope in knowing that God will sustain, God will keep us and be with us until the very end. We are secured and at peace knowing the end of life is not the end of our existence. Death is the transition that moves us out of time into eternity. The best life is yet to come. Eternal life with God that will never end.

Bankrupt foolishness is a desperate attempt in the ending years to continue to satisfy the flesh.
Being lead by the spirit in the ending years is living with a hope, with wisdom, with a joy that only is supplied by the Lord.

    Matthew 21:44
“And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.”
    Luke 220:18
“Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.”

Bankrupt foolishness is pure idolatry, you are your own god, totally responsible for your life. How very foolish, considering you have no power, God does, He made you and He loves you!
Your father fell on the stone, his creator, and has surrendered, submitted his foolishness to the Savior. Those of us who choose this path believe God’s promises and look forward to them even while experiencing life’s disappointments and pain. I am so thankful for our comforter and guide, God’s Holy Spirit.

Bankrupt fooloishness is almost like a person’s last ditch effort to try and create something in themselves for their life, whether it be pleasure, purpose, meaning, significance, or the like, as they know that they do not have much time left on earth. This can lead to extreme measures, because the thought of death is near, so there is a time constraint adding additional pressure to the individual’s mindset. However, when guided by the Spirit, the final years of life can be peaceful and hopeful, as the individual has removed their identity from the physical world and their physical body, and has turn to God and the supernatural for all things.

Bankrupt foolishness is living the final years of life without knowing the Spirit. For the those who do know and rely on the Spirit, life may still be a struggle, but the Spirit in us reminds of who God is and His purposes so that we do not lose hope.
