The head of the body is where the leadership for the body takes place; thus, Christ being called the head of the church is used to express that He is the leader. The body moves in ways the head tells it to. It is (or should be) the same for the church. The church should follow Christ’s leading and example so that she can be witness to unbelievers and an encouragement to believers.

We (the church) should seek Christ guidance and be reflective examples of his ministry.

The head is the leader of the body. All body parts move in accordance to the will of the head.

Christ is at the top, leading and guiding all the parts. He is what helps us to all work together to fulfill the the purposes that He gives us.

Well the order is key for me. He is the head and the body follows the head. Within the function of the body it takes multiple parts to work together to accomplish what the head wants to do. So it is imperative that we as the church body get in tuned and adjusted to how Christ wants things done so we can work efficiently at loving the Father and loving people as we accomplish the Kingdom agenda.
