As you reflect on Christ as the Head and the church as the body, what insights come to mind?

Jesus is the head because he is the top of the church. He is the control center of the body of Christ.

The main insight that I have is that everybody and their gift is needed for the advancement of the kingdom.

As long as the individual members listen to the instructions coming from the head, the body as a whole will perform as it was intended to.

Sometimes, through Christ’s sovereignty, the church is more united than we individual members can sense. Without us knowing it, for instance, our sins and mistakes can be used by Christ for the good of the whole body. His mercy and power is greater than our sin.

If he is the head then we should be following his lead. Physically the head is where the brain is and the brain tells the rest of our body what to. We should be connected to him like that. Moving when he says and stopping when he says.
