As I reflect on Christ as the Head and the church as the body, these insights come to mind:
1. That the head and the body are one.
2. No matter how different, deformed, or discolored a part of the body may be, it belongs and is considered a part of the whole.
3. Every part of the body has a different function even down to the capillaries (the tiniest blood vessels) and is needed for the body to function as a whole.
4. At no time do the major organs the heart, the lungs, or the skin consider themselves greater than the lesser organs.
5. The body moves as one, our feet do not move and leave the upper part somewhere else. -
All of us in the Church are here ultimately to serve the Lord. We look for and pray for ways to do this. By serving others we serve Him. We praise Him with gifts of worship, looking out for one another, praying for each other, encouragement, etc. Being part of this Body is to imitate Christ.

Everyone has a part to serve for the good of the church, to Serve God, and those in need.

He is the one in charge of the body and gives instruction for where it should go and what the body should do.
