As you reflect on Christ as the Head and the church as the body, what insights come to mind?

Christ is the brains of the operation, and the church is directed and put into action from Christ.

We are the body with Christ as the head of the church. We should be reaching others and growing the Kingdom of Christ. We are the workers with His guidance. We are the boots on the ground. It is not about the building, and I think many times we get distracted by the building and having members. We are the body of Christ and we need to be going out, sharing the Gospel and making disciples.

That as the head of the church Christ is the unquestioned leader of the church. The different parts of the church, eyes, ears, arms, etc, come together to make a whole that can serve Christ the way it should.

When our attention is on Christ as Lord of all, on His person, His grace, His words–and the words of the prophets and apostles–when He is reigning in our hearts, we are appreciative and complementary in our mutual efforts, interests, and needs. Then the church can begin to move forward together.

When I think about Christ as the head of the church, it is like the head of a household or the one who everyone looks to for guidance and direction as well as safety and security. This is what it is like with Christ as the head of the church as we look to Him in all things as our leader
