Just as the brain is the center for all the body parts to even function, so is Christ as the head and we the individual parts of the body. We cannot operate on our own or separate from the Head or the body. We are all one.

The body cannot operate without the Head. There is absolutely no life without the Head. There is no division within a body. Each member operates best when all the other members are operating at their best and healthiest. Any pain or disease affects the entire body.

One of my favorite Scriptures is Ephesians 2:8-10)
” 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
The key for me is that God has works for me that He prepared for me to walk in. I am learning to say no to all else except what I discern is His will for me.
I have taken a couple of Spiritual Gifts assessments and have come out with the combination of
Teaching/ Mercy, Serving, Exhortation and Prophecy. I have a Devotional Blog and have self-published several books and I do music and art with my husband. I have taught in Churches and I have led talks on Retreats. I have also led worship on and off for years both in Churches and on a few Women’s Retreats.
God seems to be always morphing how He leads me so I need to stay close and listen carefully for His next steps. Of course, that is true for us all.

I agree with other comments, that Christ has authority and head is where the brain so He is a teacher too, and as we are as one body we belong together and to serve the head

Christ is the most important part of the body, and we are… not minor or inferior in a bad way but truly, he is to whom all authority and control belong to, and causes any of the other body to work together.
