As you studied Luke 24:13-32, what impressed you most about the idea of bringing divine dialogue with you throughout your entire day?

Daily prayer is very important. But really trying to follow the scripture and have a real quiet time with God is best. I talk to God all day but to really spend time with him is different.

With divine dialogue following me throughout my days, I know it’ll be easier to quiet each bad thought that enters my mind and to remind myself of the peaceful glory that comes with walking in the steps of Jesus, and in turn, the steps of the Holy Spirit.

I like the idea put forth that “life is a journey and Christ wants to be our companion on it, not just someone we talk to at the last rest stop.” God knows that I surely talk to Him a lot during the day when things don’t seem to be going my way (and I sometimes scream at Him and others). I might not always think of that in the context of prayer, but that’s what it really is, as if I were talking to my earthly father about the problems I’m facing in life, no matter my age. I mean, I’m almost 64 years old and I still call my earthly father who is 90 years old when I need help with a problem or just to vent about the problem with him. I obviously would like to be giving thanks more often to Jesus (and my earthly father as well) more often than I do.

It brings God’s Revelation to us and keeps our minds focused on Him. The more we talk about Him and with Him causes us to draw closer to Him. We also have the promise of having the Peace of God with us when we spend time with Him, Isaiah 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You.

The scripture verse that says to pray without ceasing and thinking about what that really looks like. If prayer is simply communicating with God then there are many ways that we can communicate whether it is being in complete silence, speaking, singing, reading etc we can use each of those ways to communicate with God. The most important thing is to be actively doing that while at the same time listening for His leading and direction.
