For me, it reminds me that Jesus is always with me. I would not ignore a friend sitting next to me all day, so why should I ignore Him? I have learned to have short little prayers, requests, and expressions of gratitude with Him as I move through my day. If I am talking with Him regularly, it is also a good reminder that my conduct and speech must honor Him.

The idea that I will feel on fire if I converse with God throughout my entire day.

Just did this teaching Men’s Ministry this morning. In JD Greear”s teaching of Easter, he talks about Christ being betrayed, forsaken, accused, punished, and Alive in us. I equated this to an addition problem: B+F+A+P= ALIVE in us. I told taught that the Resurrection was the variable that gets us over the mountain to being Alive in Jesus. Without the Resurrection, we are stepping backwards, as Charles Spurgeon suggests, in faith. Just think of all the influences in the four . Without Resurrection, society is stuck. Think of all the media influences bombarding us. We forget how to climb that mountain towards Jesus.

It’s impossible for me to have a relationship with someone I’m not spending any time with! I can’t know Jesus without talking to Him, without studying Scripture and getting to know Who He is. I used to talk to Him so freely – truly, like I was talking to an old friend. I’m not sure what happened but I got lost in a very painful situation… then I seemed to have lost my relationship with Jesus.

You are going through something. Keep praying. Through trauma you can lose him over and over again. Never forget that he loves you. Great thought.

Speaking to the Lord constantly throughout the day strengthens me. Asking the Holy Spirit for insight and guidance is a continuous way to reach to God and feel secure in His presence. When I don’t do that, I am pulled by the ‘”noise” and distractions of the world into a wrong path or “my path”, not God’s will or way. Then, life becomes more difficult. Things don’t turn out well. I feel powerless and defenseless against the things of this world. Only intimate interaction with Christ can bring me back to peace and feeling like I’m standing on solid ground.
