As you studied Luke 24:13-32, what impressed you most about the idea of bringing divine dialogue with you throughout your entire day?
Over the years, I have learned how to talk with Abba Father through out the day. Sometimes 2-3 of conversation while othe times it can be 10 – 20 minutes. However, at any given point during my Work or Off day, I can have dialogue with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has a dynamic sense of humor. His sense of humor most often shows up when I talking with one of my 3 grown children. He is always up for a good laugh. He makes me smile when it’s been a long work day. He whispers a word or two when I need encouragement or a gentle reminder that I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me. The Holy Spirit has a tone and sensitivity that makes me feel so safe, so secure, and so deeply loved. I absolutely cannot image my Christian walk without Him.

That even as the disciples were talking about the current events and Jesus came alongside them and eventually helped them discern what they were not seeing previously, the same can be ours today.

God is just a thought away. So I am in constant contact with God throughout the day even when I get distracted. I let if become ingrained in me that I think about Him, reach out to Him. And listen for Him in return. I don’t always assume a physical posture that shows I am speaking with Him. Or hearing from Him. I could be crossing the room, talking to another person at the same time or cooking. I have learned to assume the mindset of humility wihtout the backing up of the phsycial folds of the hands and bending of the neck. I suggest that others learn this as well. It is freeing espcially when you feel as if you need to speak with Him in a certain situation and cannot get to your ‘closet’. Learn how to speak to Him in distracted situations. Like in the middle of the store or driving. Not that you will never bow your head in prayer again. But don’t put off your prayers because you cannot kneel and be in a calm place. Don’t be afraid. Practice telling Him what you need in the moment. Practice worshiping Him as you are on the jobsite. Practice listening Him when your kids are screaming at each other to ‘Stop’. Put God first in all things.

We have relationship with a living person Jesus Christ. We can’t see Jesus but He is real and lives in us. His promises are true and He sees and hears us when we speak to Him and about Him. All day long we can speak to Him about the very small to the very big. About our struggles and the struggles of others. The praises and celebrations too are His. He is in every detail if we keep a watchful eye on our relationship with Him. He loves us so much.

Whay’s most impressive about divine dialogue is that we are able to pray God’s word into our own existence.. His word that we have hidden in our hearts to help us not sin against Him that is mighty and without sin.
