As I read the story about the Emmaus road, I am reminded that God through Jesus never allows anything to happen by accident. Sometimes I think that he wanted to make sure that people were getting the story to be told to the world right. They were grieved and disturbed, but in their grief they were beginning to sow the seeds of what would be evangelism. They talked willingly with Jesus about everything as best as they could recall. The lesson said that we have part of the story like looking through a keyhole. While was standing behind the entire open door, and shared what was on the other side.

I learnt from this scripture that prayer is not a once-a-day event, but a journey with Jesus. It brings to life the verse “walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8).

Jesus/ God can talk with us through his spirit. He can turn your foolish thoughts into understanding and opening our hearts to what he wants you to know and do. If we ask and listen he can use his miracles in todays world too to our understanding and discernment.

That we have a God that wants daily open communication with his children. That was why Jesus came and died. For direct access and personal relationship through forgiveness and prayer.
