Christian Learning Center › Forums › Discussion Forum › At the beginning of this program we learned: “People have many reasons for rejecting the Christian faith. Some may admire Christ but dislike His followers. Others find it difficult to accept any faith that claims to be the only way to God. Why would anyone limit themselves to only one of the world’s great religions?” How valid are each of these objections? What is your response to each?

The enemy controls the world and has led many astray but when you pray for Jesus Christ to come into your heart and read his Word the rest of the world and the lies it perpetuates begins to fade away. This is how God brought me back, I rebuked the devil from my mind and heart and I realized the love for sin that I had. Now things become clear and the Word of God and Jesus Christ our Lord speaks to my heart differently than before. Thank you, Lord, Amen.

Some people may think that Christians are also suppose to live a sinless and perfect life and when we don’t, it is hard for them to believe.
Saying, “I am the way, the truth , and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” does seem like a narrow path. Look at who God is, what He has done, and how He sent His Son to die for us. God is your creator, sustainer, and redeemer. Following anyone or anything other than Him is pointless.

Difficulty in accepting that there is only one way to God is understandable for those who don’t know God or understand anything about the validity of scripture. I would start with sharing evidence that points to the historical accuracy of scripture along with many prophecies which are fulfilled in Christ. Finally, this lecture brings us to the credibility of who Jesus is. If he is indeed God, His words are true when He says that He is the only way to heaven.

We all fall short and do not live up to the example set by Jesus, as we are all sinners. Jesus was the only sinless man and therefore, all of us will fall short. When we fall short and claim to be Christians, it can set a bad example for others and therefore can make it difficult for others to accept faith that claims to be the way to God.
People who claim to not want to limit themselves to only one of the world’s religions succumb to the secular world and subscribe to doing what makes them feel good. Christianity is not always going to make you feel good. Repenting from your sins is hard, messy, and can not feel good. Therefore, people often do not want to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior to be part of the only one world religion.
Jesus clearly let his actions speak louder than His words. The number of miracles that Jesus performed is undeniable and a great example of the fact that he is our Saviors. Christians must act or use their actions to help others see that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. John 14:6 – “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through me.” All of man’s questions of life are answered in this verse.
Jesus encouraged a life of love and we as Christians must also encourage and live out a life of love in order to bring others closer to Jesus to know Him and acknowledge Him as Lord and their life. -
