Before this lesson, how would you have described what a good leader does? How would you describe what a good leader does now?

I would have viewed a good leader as one who has a clear, inspiring but realistic vision for his group on one hand, and who has good intentions and reasonable concern for his group members.
Dr. Buzzell helps me see that a leader is one who takes his followers from an old place to a new place, and hopefully it is a better place for him to qualify as a morally good leader.

I would have described servant leadership and used the example of Jesus. I would still say that, but I would add that leadership is an act, not just a quality.

A good leader goes first, A good leader leads with vision and carries it out. It’s a costly cross and a leader rises up to accept it.

A good leader brings people together and makes them better.
A good leader has followers to whom they lead to a better place or situation.

I would have said a good leader looks out for the best interest of those they are leading, is willing to have the hard conversations with tact, and is willing to do the things that go unnoticed and unrecognized but make the different.
I would add that leading is different than managing and leading is more costly but worthwhile in every way.
