Finding out what the Bible passage means in its context means that we need to first observe its components, knowing what they are and taking them apart so we can find out how to fit them together. Applying the Bible passage to our lives means we need to know what the author meant to say to his listeners in the first place, what message from God the author meant to bring across.

First is to observe, to take a look at my meal. Then to interpret, or to actually taste it so to speak. Then to Apply it.

To “Observe “ the passage is to take note of what it is saying.
The “Interpretation “ of the passage to understand what it means may take time and prayer for a perspective that may be new or possibly a reminder of God’s Wisdom for your life.
The “Application “ is the challenge to yield to the instruction of the passage so as to enjoy a more superlative walk with the Lord which is the fruit of the growth the initial observance of the Living Word brings as we understand it through the interpretation by the Holy Spirit actively moulding us and enlightening us towards the goals of the journey- thus each step is crucial in the process. -
First we have to observe what we are reading and ask what do I see?
Then we have to interpret (through the Holy Spirit) and ask what does it mean?
Then apply what we read and ask what does it mean I should do?
