We engage our mind when we read the Bible (observation) to understand what the author is telling us (interpretation) and then we apply it to our lives.

Observing invokes the mind, interpretation makes it personally apply to me, application shows me the action.

By observation, we see with our minds so we can interpret what the author wanted us to understand by what he wrote. When we rightly interpret what we wrote, we then must apply what we have learned in our daily walk.

Observing is what you see, interpreting is asking yourself “what does this mean?” and application is determining what to do with this new found information and how do I apply to my life if it is applicable to me.
