As a history teacher, I love the guiding question of what is a human being. We are sinners and because of that sin we we have created the world culture and life that is around us. As I also tell my student history is not PG it is dark and it has been evil. This is caused by the fall of man.

Oh my goodness. As I was preparing to hear the questions that would come from the lecture about planning units and lessons, it never once entered my mind that they would involve defining “human,” the meaning of human history, post-death, and prime or external realities. I think right off the bat that I would never have time to consider such things when I barely am able to find time to submit lesson plans in the first place. I think my teaching abilities may be too small for this. I should stay home and peel potatoes.

I think implementing those questions will be fairly easy for my biology class, as we learn about DNA, evolution, and ecology. However, it is hard to implement them in my AP chemistry class, as we are learning to the Exam in May.

The basic premise should definitely be applied. The value system and beliefs of the instructor can influence the students. I could not imagine checking off every item on the list with every unit, but perhaps, broadly in the Scope and Sequence. The answer to those questions would not come up frequently in some factual courses. The facilitator in a Christian school should be vetted and a believer. I do, sometimes compare events in the curriculum to the Biblical world view.

I think that it gives a good starting point and a way to think about integration. I will definitely use these in planning my lesson and ask myself these questions.
