Can you think of a time when you were called upon to give a defense of your faith in Christ? If so, briefly explain.

Yes, I had a relationship with a Muslim who would ask many questions and dialogue with me about faith. I had many opportunities to give a defense of the faith I have in Jesus through the Word. It was not easy and did not always go smoothly. But, God was gracious to give me wisdom and understanding for each conversation.

I went to a secular college. I remember when a statement was made that “all Christians are intolerant.” Many did not know before that statement was made that I was believer; however, I could not remain silent. I calmly explained that I was a Christian and asked my peers if any of them had ever seen or heard me make a statement that was unkind or judgmental towards a certain lifestyle or people group. It was in many regards a cathartic moment, as several stated that I had not. Several more later said that they could “see Jesus in me.” It was one of the most humbling moments of my life.

A friend of mine asked and although I spoke with enthusiasm I regretfully lacked humility. I went on and on about my faith. I wished I would have taken the time to seek to understand her by asking more questions around why she doesn’t believe rather than why I do.

Yes. In a job where evangelism is center, I am regularly engaging with people around why I believe what I believe.

The only time I’ve been in a similar situation was when the Mormons knocked on my door. We shared snacks and cola’s. I asked them questions as did they. Everything I asked they had to look it up. I knew what was in my bible and had no problem answering their questions. The boys were young and I just wanted them to understand we all have different beliefs. I commend them for their commitment.
