One of my friends is Catholic and she doesn’t understand why I left the Catholic church. She tried very hard to get me to re-join. When I speak to her about Jesus, she doesn’t seem to understand that you can have a personal relationship with Him. Nothing that I said made any difference to her. Hopefully, this course will help me explain the reason for my faith in Him.

I had a conversation with a Jewish person who couldn’t understand how a person convicted of murder could say they believe in Christ and be forgiven for killing another person. I talked about how hopeless it would be to make a mistake and felt there was no way to overcome that mistake. Having faith in Christ allowed for that hope for the forgiveness of our sins and a way to repent for our mistakes. It ended up being a really positive conversation that made her think about the hope that Christ gives to us.

Hello Kara. I am glad to hear the conversation ended well. We just had a course on forgiveness at church and I thank God I am free from so some lived baggage. My hope came from Matthew 6: 14-15 (Amplified Version) For if you forgive others their trespasses [ their reckless and willful sins], your evenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others [nurturing your hurt and anger with the result that it interferes with your relationship with God], then your Father will not forgive your trespasses.

Here lately, I have been called upon to defend my faith numerous times. That is why I am taking this course and hope to learn how to respond as I should. Unfortunately, I find myself in defense mode when someone questions me, and at times, my answers come out as anger or judgment I’m afraid.

I was challenged to going to come for what I believe in at my job.

All the time, I teach High School Social Studies and the students frequently ask me to defend some point about my faith as we study the pages of history through a christain perspective.
