My brother-in-law questioned why I believe in Christ. He didn’t understand the values and statements we believe and educate by at the Christian school where I teach. I used a few Bible verses to help show why I see the beauty in Christ and everything around us. My faith is what moves me and I explained that to him. He questioned why I took time each day to thank God when I have other things to do. I told him I see the miracles and wonderful things around me even in the storm so I need to show my gratitude, praise, and faith.

Recently I was asked not to give a defense of my faith in Christ necessarily, but to give defense of an aspect of my faith in Christ. I was asked why I couldn’t watch pornography as a Christian? And to be honest with you my answer wasn’t much better than my defense of my faith would be. I’ve been a Christian for over 30 years and have gotten complacent in my faith over the years and am in desperate need of a refresher course to get me motivated again.

I turned my back on God 3 years ago until recently. During those 3 years, I was pagan and was an active practitioner and belonged to a coven. Recently, the seed that I buried so deep into my mental ground was dug up, replanted, and watered again and I gave my life to Christ. When I told those that were close to me during my time as a pagan, they laughed and turned their back on me. I have defended my faith in Christ more times than I can count since I gave up witchcraft and became Christian. It is not easy because the Devil knows all the right things to say to make you doubt your faith, but I am gaining strength in my faith day after day and will no longer live as my old self.

It actually happened close to home for me. My son around the age of 15 started to learn and grow in the church we were attending. He then dropped everything for a girlfriend . from that day on he didn’t want to go to church or even talk about God. I do believe my son is a believer, but I am praying for his salvation. I try and speak to him about my faith, but I really don’t get any where. I turn to God and I have fully given my son over to Christ. He is 19 now and still is the same, but I do know god will bring him home one day, and I am already praising him. I will not waver in my faith and deep down I know my son believes.

Throughout my Christian walk there have been many times that I have been called upon to defend my faith. At those times I have tried my best to try to explain the existance of God and His plan for salvation through Jesus Christ. Before I became a Christian I fervantly beleived in the theory of evolution and livied my life according to this lie. In my opinion, this one deception has kept more people from the truth and accepatance of Jesus Christ as their savior. This really upsets me and I would say that I have spent a lot of energy in debating creation and evolution. So much so that it became at times more important winning the debate than winning a person to Christ. I have to confess during those times I didn’t have the gentlesness and reverance that I sholuld of have. Through this study that is one thing I want to change.
