Holy tension is the concept of deep learning. Under the New Covenant, The Spirit is working and producing a reality into the soul that create a force so deep withinm it becomes a passion within to experice the gospel in a powerful way.
The desire to do good creates a conflict because there is a war for the soul. The flesh cannot please God and only The Spirit working in us can
Under The New Covenant, we have a new purity because of the Blood of Jesus. We gave a new identity , We are now Christ’s. Because of the live of God being poured into us, we have a new a inclination, a new appetite , The Spirit in dwelling. We have new power, no longer a slave to sin , but empowered to walk in newness of life.

Holy tension is the battle between my present reality and my eternal destiny. It is a battle between what I was designed to be and what I long to be as a Christian and the person that I am right now.

Holy tension is when a person gets a vision of what he can be in Christ (and that’s what God desires him to be), over and above what he is right now. Flesh dynamics and Spirit dynamics are in conflict in this battle, but the New Covenant helps us prevail over this tension by giving us a new purity, a new identity, a new inclination and a new power.

Holy tension is where I am currently and where my spirit long to be. The new covenant help me now know that I am covered by grace, have a new identity and can move by the power of God to help me become what God longs me to be.

‘Holy tension’ is the way God uses his Spirit to reveal to us where we are and move us further along the path to where we long to be. It is a state of genuine suffering because our own fleshly desires conflict with God’s way. It is only as we surrender to God’s way that what he has for us become our greatest passion. Holy tension is the place where learning and spiritual change occurs as we allow the Spirit to appropriate the provisions of the New Covenant in our lives.
These provisions help us because they keep our eyes on who we now are in Christ and what God has done for us and continues to do for us. This encourages us to walk the New Way rather than the way of our fleshly desires.
