I experienced feeling discouraged when I am giving my all and a particular student is missing the mark and the support at home is not good enough. I pray for the student and the parent that they are able to see the light and believe and act in manner that is better and supportive to their student.

As the media specialist, I do not usually see the students’ academic progress. I do hear about issues they are having sometimes, and I try to be encouraging.

I have been disappointed in the progress of some students for sure. I teach debate, and the lack of willingness to seek out the news on their own and become more educated on world affairs is a let down at times. Some of them will tell me that they have issues at home with internet, poverty, and time because they have to help with younger siblings. I am hoping to see it come together and for a move in the areas of struggle for them.

It can be very discouraging when a student is struggling. I have seen amazing changes in students. I am currently waiting for a change in one of my students lives this year.

I have had the privilege to walk with many students in their walk with Jesus. I have noticed students act in unwise ways just because they want peers to like them. I have a heart for these students as I remember being in their shoes as well. I am grateful to have been able to be there for students as they have repented and turned back to Jesus after turning away from him. It is the most encouraging thing in the world when this happens!
