I once had a student who would come to school unprepared, no breakfasted , no clean uniforms. His parents were getting divorced and he was being heavenly affected by it. I prayed many tines with him and helped every way possible, but he moved schools and I never heard about him. I still constantly praying for him.

I had a student that was struggling to get along with one of her friends. She is a sensitive soul and took their disagreements to heart. During a chapel, the pastor talked about taking a moment to pray during a hard time. One day, the friend said something to her that she did not like. I watched before intervening and saw the girl place her hand on her heart and pray. She used that strategy to help her navigate friendships the rest of the year and was much bolder and confident because she usually took a moment to pray before responding to a friend or just letting someone be mean to her. It was great to see those skills taught being used and seeing her social growth.

This last semester I had a student that is gifted in my subject, but she was struggling with having any motivation. She was not willing to share with me the problem. I told her I would be praying for her. She started to care and engage more. I’m continuing to pray and see what occurs next fall.

A recent student who did not pass my class due to lack of work ethic and low test scores. The parents tried to pressure me to change his grade to passing, but I did not. I am praying for this young man and his family to come to know Christ, as they currently do not.

I was very discouraged this year that one of the hardest students really didn’t seem to be making any changes in behavior, but was reminded by my co-teacher that there are so many factors that go into a child’s life. We are still waiting for a change to occur, but are trusting that we did our part to love and pray for this child.
