I am aware that my student has the ability to succeed and it is discouraging, however applying what God has placed within me to teach my students is how I move forward. I leave it in God’s hands and take the time to communicate with this student. I learned that taking time to listen to my students helps me to better understand them.

I am still waiting and praying for progress in one particular student’s life. I will continue to keep this student in my prayers. I am confident that our Lord will instill a need to change and grow in this student’s mind.

Sometimes I have seen students regress in skills or behaviors, and it can be alarming. I have to remember that it is all in God’s hands – I can pray, I can teach, help, and encourage, but ultimately I am a small part of the students’ journey and that is ok.

Recently I have been discouraged by the lack of support from parents. I believe Christian education works best when we as educators partner with the home and family. I have seen several students grow in spite of the lack of support. Strange that parents would enroll them in a Christian school but then not support the mission of that same school.

The classroom climate has changed in the last few years. It seems that educators have their work cut out for them.
