I started working with a student last year who struggled with low self-esteem due to her reading disabilities. I turned to God as I continually supported her. This academic year, she is making progress but is not fully there yet.

I will use a very recent scenario, one of my students who is not meeting up with her deadline in an investigaion report, it was not like this from the beginning with her, I have counseled her and encouraged her and told her I will be praying to God to help her find back her way. I am still waiting on God to see that change.

There are a couple of young ladies who seemed to be on the quiet, shy side but now they are opening up and participating more in course discussions. I think stressing biblical integration into the courses and letting students know that they are valued no matter what helps tremendously.

Behavior issues can be frustrating but in actuality, they are discipleship opportunities. Student that misbehave in Chapel for example can be challenged to mature and grow when pulled aside and confronted.

I’ve been praying for and sharing with one of my former students for over 15 years now. One day I believe William will come to faith in Jesus.
