One student of mine is growing in her knowledge of how to navigate the Bible. I see her pausing and reading and pondering as we go. It is exciting!

This past year I struggled with a student who was disrespectful towards authority and did not want to hear the truth of God’s word. I am still praying for this student to turn and for his heart to change. My role is to continue to love him as Christ would and to continue sharing God’s truth in love.

I once struggled with a student in course who consistently showed disrespect towards authority /others. This student also struggled with very low grades. I prayed for this student and asked God for wisdom in how to deal with her. God gave me new eyes and a Christlike love for her. I began to encourage her and challenge her as God led me to, and began to see a transformation in her behavior and grades. It was definitely a learning experience for me, to see what God can do when we surrender our students into His hands and ask for His wisdom in how to handle it.

I was discouraged by a recent cheating incident. The students who were involved were good students. I do not think they realized how what they did was actually harmful to their testimony. In a secular institution, Christians doing this would have been a bad witness for our integrity. A biblical worldview should seek to honor God in ALL areas. I do believe that we had a good opportunity to discuss this an how this can affect a Christian’s testimony.

I was a little concerned with some of my students who had become very selfish and focused on themselves instead of loving others. I have witnessed change in some of people. God has reminded me that He works in fast torrents that cut through rocks and slow erosions to cut through that same rock.
