It can be very discouraging when a student is struggling. I have seen amazing changes in students. I am currently waiting for a change in one of my students lives this year.

I have had the privilege to walk with many students in their walk with Jesus. I have noticed students act in unwise ways just because they want peers to like them. I have a heart for these students as I remember being in their shoes as well. I am grateful to have been able to be there for students as they have repented and turned back to Jesus after turning away from him. It is the most encouraging thing in the world when this happens!

I have had student that was very disengaged in class due to their own personal interests. I witnessed a change when I played to the students strength’s and incorporated him in class in a greater way. This was very encouraging.

The student was transferred in and initially lacked motivation, but with reflection and support, he has now started making progress.

I have had many students unwilling to “try” because the subject matter was hard. One in particular did not begin to really try until he found success. By encouraging the small success, his confidence grew and he was willing to make an effort and apply himself in class.
